CRICKET REPORT Prison Rules

Prison CC has sole ownership of the top position of Division 1 after defeating By Rite CC yesterday. Playing at the Jimmy Powell Oval, Prison restricted By Rite to 162 for 8 wickets. By Rite had solid contributions from Sylvester Suberan 39 and Adrian Wright 34 however the accepted By Rite middle order drive was contained by a well marshaled Prison bowling attack. Captain Saheed Mohamed took 4 wickets.

At their turn to bat Prison had good contributions from the top five with Steve Gordon 36 and Gerard Christian 35 leading the way. Mohamed continued his brilliant form with 22n.o. Prison CC won by 6 wickets.

At the Smith Road Oval ESSO Tigers won over LIME Schools. With excellent all round performances ESSO Tigers limited LIME Schools to 133 for 9 and achieve victory for the lost of 5 wickets.

In Division 2, Cayman Brac came over to Grand Cayman and had a bitter sweet 2 matches. Firstly at Jimmy Powell Oval, Cayman Brac lead by Sahadeo Sohan 62n.o and Steve Coates 40 fought 2009 champions ESSO Cubs all the way. Having 170 to win Cayman Brac required 8 runs from the last over but was only able to achieve 7 runs thus tying the match. On day 2 Cayman Brac met the might of JJ”S. Lead by a masterful display of powerful strokes from Garth Bryan 106n.o and Kerniel Coley 61, JJ”S scored 323 for 9. Cayman Brac replied strongly with Donald McKay 89 and Sahadeo Sohan 33 but fell short by 90 runs. In the third Division 2 match Aims Consultants easily defeated Oneness by 7 wickets.

Women Cricket League begins on Sunday March 7th at John A. Cumber Primary School ground. There are 4 teams Stingrays, Panthers, Greenies and Motown participating in this competition. All matches begin at 1.00pm
