CRICKET REPORT
After three rounds of matches, Prison C.C. holds an unbeaten record having defeated LIME Schools at the Jimmy Powell Oval over the weekend. The rich vein of runs continues for the Prison team’s captain Saheed Mohamed who top scored for his team with a patient half century. Other worthwhile contributions came from Kevon Bazil and Gerard Christian. Schools Sacha De Alvis stopped the flow of runs by picking up 4 wickets but the late order batting of Kevon Bazil made the difference. Prison bowling proved to be too heavy for the Schools’ batsmen with only Ricardo Roach 23n.o, and Zachary McLaughlin 22n.o showing any resistance.
Over at the Smith Road Oval ESSO Tigers produced a surprise for the Police team winning by 52 runs. Paul Chin 37, Ugal Sicard 35 and Clevon Sailsman 22 combined to give ESSO Tigers a fighting total of 164 runs. Sailsman had an excellent all round game plan as he returned to pick up 4 wickets with the ball.
In Division 2 action Garfield Edwards 52 and Clevon Sailsman 32n.o and 4 wickets provided UCCI/West Bay with an easy victory over new team ONESS by 6 wickets. In the rain affected match at Jimmy Powell Oval, Aims Consultants defeated Chillies by 40 runs after the Duckworth/Lewis system was used.
