2010 SEASON BEGAN IN BRILLIANT SUNSHINE

Cayman Islands Cricket Association began its 2010 season with three matches over the weekend. Already it seems that 2010 will be another exciting season as the competitiveness was evident from the matches played.

Division 2 League and 20/20 champions ESSO CUBS dominated The Rest and easily won with Ricardo Roach scoring a blistering 79n.o.

On Sunday, our Women cricketers gave the Masters a good run for their money only lacking in experience to take the match home. Outstanding for the women was Paulette Robinson, Carmel Harms and Wyvonne Forbes.

In the feature match the old cricket saying that "bowlers rule early" was true as Prison, 2009 League Champions and The Rest bowlers were outstanding. Prison limited The Rest to 96 of 8 with Kevon Bazil, Oscar Owen and Paawan Arora taking 2 wickets each. Ricardo Roach top the scorers for The Rest with 20 runs. Only Prison captain Saheed Mohamed 23 runs had any answer for The Rest team bowlers as Prison was restricted to 84 runs for 9 wickets. Kervin Ebanks 3 wickets, Kenute Tulloch and Marlon Bryan 2 wickets each were the front runners.

The association 2010 league matches begin this weekend.
