CLICO Cayman Division 1 League

CLICO Cayman Division 1 League match between By Rite and Greenies 1 was a nail biting match up at the Smith Road Oval. By Rite batting first scored 199 runs with Sylvester “Benji” Suberan leading the way with 54 runs not out. Other contributors were Conroy Wright 26, Keniel Irving 24 and Jalon Linton 22. Bowling for Greenies Faisal Ahmad 2 for 31 and Hector Robinson 2 for 34 were the main wicket takers.

Economical spells from Conroy Wight (10-2-13-3) and Kenute Tulloch (10-3-30-1) could not stop the steady flow of runs as Greenies 1 batsmen stuck to the grind building partnerships. Led by Craig Scott 39 and Josh Brown 37 Greenies lost their 9th wicket at 194. Entered match winner Robinson who combined with Ahmad to get the required 6 runs. Greenies won by 1 wicket.

ESSO Tigers recorded another victory following from last weekend. Playing at Jimmy Powell Oval Devon Williams 75 and captain Alvan Babb 59 who continued on his good form following his ton last weekend for the Masters in Jamaica were the main scorers while small cameos came from Clevon Sailsman 29 and Wayne Cato 23. Paramount’s best bowlers were Omar Swaby 3 wickets and Michael Reid 2 wickets.

Following their total of 240 runs, ESSO Tigers tightened the screws and Paramount was unable to free themselves. Consistent bowling from Clevon Sailsman, Jason Jairam and Alistair Ifill with 2 wickets each restricted Paramount to 127 for 9 wickets. Leon Watson 27 played a lone hand for Paramount as ESSO Tigers won by 113 runs.
