ESSO Cubs claimed the first cricket trophy by defeating Paramount DTA in the CLICO Cayman 20/20 Division 2. Having restricted Paramount DTA to 86 runs, the Cubs made small work of the final winning by 6 wickets. Bowling for the ESSO Cubs, Ricardo Roach, Corey Cato and Omar Willis took 2 wickets each. Omar and Wayne Cato rounded off an excellent victory by scoring 21 runs not out and 15 runs not out respectively.

In the play off for 3rd place, Pro Plus defeated Greenies Too by 13 runs

CLICO Cayman 20/20 Division 1 Semi Finals

CLICO Cayman 20/20 Division 1 semi finals produced some exciting cricket for fans on Sunday. LIME Schools won their way to the Final together with defending champions By Rite. Both teams recorded victories against Greenies 1 and ESSO Tigers.

LIME Schools batting first reached 113 for 5 wickets with good contributions coming from Zachary McLaughlin 29, Ramon Sealy 27 and Darren Cato 25. The blistering pace of Marlon Bryan and Kervin Ebanks rocked Greenies 1 taking 3 early wickets between them. Greenies 1 never recovered and were bowled out for 91.

Joseph Kirkconnell returned home on a short break from studies and showed he has not lost any of his touches as he led By Rite to victory against ESSO tigers. Joseph played an excellent knock of 34 runs. By Rite won the match by 7 wickets.

Smith Road Oval is the action spot this Sunday for the CLICO Cayman 20/20 Division 1 Final. Champions By Rite holds the upper hand going into the final against the youthful LIME Schools team. With their vast experience to call on in bowlers Kenute Tulloch, Conroy Wright, Steadman Gray and Michael Wight and in batting captain Ainsley Hall, Joseph Kirkconnell, Keniel Irving, Michael Wight and Jalon Linton By Rite tops the betting chart as favorites.

On the other hand the youthful exuberance of LIME Schools’ team believes they are up to the challenge. LIME Schools’ batting includes Ricardo Roach, Ramon Sealy, Zachary McLaughlin, Darren Cato and Omar Willis with the bowling department led by Marlon Bryan and including Kervin Ebanks, Corey Cato, Nicholas Roberts, Omar Willis and Ricardo Roach. There are other members on both teams with the capabilities to make a difference possibly producing one of the best 20/20 finals to date. Only time will tell!
